Can you see the horses? Can you feel the energy? Les Chevaux evolved after witnessing a herd of beautiful galloping horses last summer near Normandy Beach, France. Their strength, energy and freedom impressed me so I tried to capture the feeling in this acrylic, mixed media and collage painting, which I completed this spring in my California studio. Neutral tones, bold gestural strokes, patterns created with India ink, newsprint and pieces of tissue and corrugated cardboard. This original abstract expressionist painting presents an image of horses (Le Chevaux) galloping through gestural paint strokes and collage elements. Neutral palette with textural effects.
